At Home This Christmas

At the end of every year we take a look back and are thankful for the amazing clients we had the chance to work with and the unique, charming spaces that were created. During this festive time, we are fortunate to hear stories from our clients’ about how their newly revived homes have also been enjoyed by family and friends; filled with joy, love and laughter.

Getting into the Christmas spirit, we took the opportunity to speak with two clients we worked with this year to see how their new dwellings will be impacting their festivities and what features or spaces in particular are getting them most excited to spend the holidays at home.

When it came to visualising Carine’s Brixton home, we knew from the offset that it would be filled with character and zest; reflecting the young family’s personalities and passions. Comprised of unique movable furniture elements, the South London home was designed to act as the perfect setting to cook and celebrate with flexibility and ease – an idyllic novelty at this time of year.

“We spend so much of our time on the ground floor area” says Carine, “it’s so open and versatile – we know it will be the perfect spot for hosting family over Christmas.” Speaking of the open-plan nature to the room Carine explains “the living room really is an extension of the kitchen, dining area and vice versa… It’s a space where the girls can play, or guests can relax while I cook. It’s a luxury to now have that space.”

Speaking of the joys of Christmas at home, Carine revealed how much she is looking forward to family time, saying “I’m really excited about spending this Christmas at home and filling our space with music and delicious scents.”

In the case of our most recently completed Wandsworth project, our clients were seeking a complete ground floor refurbishment to bring some warmth and style to their family-shared spaces. Completed in the nick of time for the cosy autumn and winter seasons, it was important that this home felt restorative and homely for our hardworking corporate clients.

“This year we plan to have family with us, so the wider choice of seating areas and different zones will make the whole experience more comfortable for everyone” shared our client, speaking of the family’s Christmas plans. “The new fireplace in the living room will be very cosy on Christmas evenings, while the lovely lighting around the house adds tranquillity.”

Relishing in her new space, our client adds “the kitchen is so well laid out that cooking is now much more pleasurable, plus we have a lovely long dining table which can fit everyone around it for Christmas dinner.” Speaking of decorating their home for the first time, our client mentions “our house is so much smarter, it’s will really help the place look fantastic this year – I’m not relying on as many decorations as everything is looking beautiful as it is!”
